Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 10
(vinified with 50% whole clusters) Medium-deep red. Blueberry, minerals and licorice on the nose. Sweet, sappy and deep, with a thickness leavened by the energy brought by the stems. Very suave, broad, mouthfilling wine with black cherry, dark berry and mineral flavors and a mounting finish of great precision. This spectacularly blends the tension of the Echezeaux with the fruit and flesh of the Grands-Echezeaux. Deceptively tastable today, this may merit an even higher score after a decade in the bottle.
